Model United Nations

Return to Societies

City Model United Nations is focused on debating, role-playing crisis meetings and getting young people invigorated about issues that affect us, geopolitically, such climate change and human rights.

The United Nations an intergovernmental organisation that was created to keep international peace and security after the events of WW2. Member states can discuss, debate about issues that impact the global community such as climate change, poverty whilst allowing for debate about international conflicts from the war in Ukraine to the Syrian Conflict. Model United Nation (or Model UN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations. Students take on the roles of diplomates or delegates from member states of the United Nations, participating in organisations or committees such as this aimed at creating this experience for the next generation who wish to impact world politics. If you are interested in public speaking, debating, world politics then Model UN at City is right for you. We will meet on Thursday and will communicate the time on our Instagram and member’s group, so be sure to add our socials and talk to the committee. We schedule our crisis session every other month, with regular social events that allow you to meet other members and interact across the diverse student body that is available at City. If you are interested, please come along to our taster session, which is being organised. We can’t wait to meet you all! Remember, be the delegates!
