Islamic Society raised over £15,000 in One Week!

The Islamic Society of City raised a magnificent £15,273.19 in one week for a charitable cause, doubling their figure from their campaign last year! They had 60 students do a sponsored mountain climb to Snowdonia, each raising over £200 in sponsorships.

City Students’ Union Stance on UCU USS Strike

We are glad to announce that last night at the Student Members meeting, City students have voted in support of encouraging the University and UCU to continue discussions to prevent further actions being taken and for a reasonable solution to be found as soon as possible to minimise the negative impact on the student experience.

Food Survey 2017 - The Results!

Between November 2016 and January 2017, the Students’ Union ran a Food Survey Campaign in order to gather student feedback on the catering offer on campus, here we announce the results of that campaign!

City Sports

Friendship, challenge, personal health, enjoyment are only some of the benefits of being a member of sports team. In 2017, twenty-eight teams competed over nine different sports against Kingston across two days in March in a bid to win “Thames river trophy”. After two days of sporting action which also includes a special appearance by City Wolf, City were Victorious.

Carrot Radio to go “On Air” soon
City Students' Union Radio Room

City’s own student-led radio station is now online! As of January the new Students’ Union Radio Room is now equipped, set up and ready to go! In addition to the online podcasts accessible now, Carrot Radio plans to broadcast live shows within the coming semester.

Access All Areas

Access All Areas is a self-directed club crawl in the West End. Collecting your AAA wristband from Bar Soho before 11pm on the night grants you access to 6 iconic venues and student drinks prices all night.

City Students raised over £1,800

We raised money for Penny Appeal which works on numerous projects all around the Globe. We had number of different events and activities run by RAG Board in collaboration with Sports Teams and Societies.

Cocktails are back to CityBar!

At the beginning of this academic year it was brought to my attention that cocktails were no longer allowed to be served at CityBar. We received feedback from students that they wanted to be able to purchase cocktails and were surprised they weren’t part of the offering already.

Making Better Societies

Last week the Union delivered its biggest training programme than ever before to its Student Leaders. Welcoming over 500 attendees we delivered 8 different information and skills focused sessions; sessions included Leadership, Event Management and Effective Marketing and Communications to name just a few. All sessions aimed to train and develop our leaders so that they may grow their societies to deliver bigger and better events and opportunities for you!
