Worried you missed your chance to stand in our elections? It’s not too late! The Autumn Elections might be over but a few positions remain unfilled, so we’re holding a by-election!

The Roles:

If you are passionate and interested about providing oversight on key areas of the Union to ensure that our services are working for students and help drive our campaigns and political direction then put yourself forward for Student Council. We are still looking for:

1 councillor for Law

2 councillors for SASS

2 councillors for SHS

1 councillor for SMCSE.

If you’re a postgrad research student and want to campaign and represent students on areas that matter to you, then why not nominate yourself to be our Postgraduate Research Representative?

Nomination:

If you want to take the chance and run for one of the positions then nominate yourself. All details on how to nominate yourself can be found here: https://www.citystudents.co.uk/elections/

Be quick - nominations are open and will close on Thursday 1st November at 1pm.

If you are successful as a candidate, then you will benefit in a number of ways. Your actions will help to shape the Union; you will gain employability skills, obtain meeting experience, join a community of students interested in improving things for City students and most of all have FUN.

Close- 1st November 2018 at 1pm

Candidate Briefing:

(Compulsory attendance for candidates)

5pm-6pm Thursday 1st November

12m-1pm Friday 2nd November

Voting week:

(Online only)

Open – Monday 5th November at 12pm

Close – Friday 9th November at 12pm

Results will be released on Monday 12th November following completion of any outstanding appeals and disciplinary actions.

Successful Candidates will take up position following the completion of Induction Training which is scheduled for week commencing 12th November 2018.

The first Student Council meeting is on 8th November and you are encouraged to attend if you are standing for a position. Details of the meeting can be found here.
