The Islamic Society of City raised a magnificent £15,273.19 in one week for a charitable cause, doubling their figure from their campaign last year! They had 60 students do a sponsored mountain climb to Snowdonia, each raising over £200 in sponsorships. There were stalls throughout the week with delicious delicacies such as cakes and sweets which were sold out everyday. In addition to that, there were many activities throughout the week like football tournament and games night.
Quote from the leaders of the Islamic society;
"The whole University welcomed and contributed in making difference to those who are less fortunate, which embodies the very essence of the Islamic Society and the work we do for the community"
The money was raised for Islamic Relief which is an international humanitarian organisation that provides development programs and humanitarian relief around the globe, regardless of race, political affiliation, gender or belief.
