We’ve already achieved some great things this academic year such as running major events for Black History Month and Islamophobia Awareness Month, showcasing a fully refurbished microwave room and bringing cocktails back to CityBar!
Here’s an update about the projects we are working on now...
I’ve developed a survey to gain understanding of what community means to our students and how City SU and the University can improve students’ sense of belonging. I’m also working on a business case in the hope to trial at least two power nap pods. Additionally to this, I'm currently investigating the employment rights of Graduate Teaching Assistants and how fairly they are being treated, with the hope to make change.
I’m writing up a business case to attempt to bring a company to City which offers free printing. I am also working closely with School Representative Officers to find out what their individual school issues are. Furthermore I am working with Programme Reps, particularly through our coffee mornings and feeding the details to the individual deans so that we can take action.
I’ve helped the Howl to get their first print edition off the ground and I’m working on running a radio room led by students. I’m also negotiating larger storage spaces for societies and rapidly increasing the number of societies this year. I also worked on the Raising and Giving board, which led to City students raising £1800 during RAG week.
