The Annual Checkmate - Chess Tournament & More

Like chess?

Welcome to the 1st Chess Tournament at City – The Annual Checkmate. This is an event not only for chess fans – but for anyone who wishes to become fast learners, speed readers, memory champions and life livers! We are bringing in Genius In 21 Days – a world leading advanced learning consultancy that will teach you how your brain works, and how to best memorise anything you want (even a 20 digit number) in seconds, how to speed read and how to manage your time in an age of information overload.

If you fancy a good challenge – join our Chess Tournament. It is sponsored by the International Master (!) Malcolm Pein and Chess In Schools & Communities. Step out of your comfort zone in this refreshing competition and train your strategic thinking in the best way possible. Chess is proven to advance your skills in problem solving, strategy, system thinking, field awareness and much more!

All this is done for charity. We suggest a donation of £5 for participation in the tournament, and all donations will go directly to Future Frontiers – a charity that aids disadvantaged pupils in reaching Higher Education and fulfilling their potential.
