  • • Record your agreement by writing meeting notes, or by screen shotting your WhatsApp committee chat.
  • • Email the evidence of your decision to endorse a candidate to us on SUelections@city.ac.uk
  • • Wait for a confirmation from the union via email (we’ll reply within max 1-working day).
  • • Start promoting your endorsed candidates.

Rules to remember

Once a group have received confirmation from the  Union they must follow these rules. If a group break any of these rules their actions will be attributed to the candidate they are campaigning for, and the candidate may be sanctioned or disqualified.

  • • Groups may use your social media, membership list and WhatsApp groups to promote your candidates.
  • • Groups must not delete other peoples campaign materials from WhatsApp groups that you moderate.
  • • Groups must not coerce or force members of your society to vote for a candidate, or in a certain way (e.g. what preference).
  • • Groups must not fund any candidate’s campaign with your society money.

Other general rules

  • • Your society and your members must not force other students to vote.
  • • Your society and your members must not provide iPads/Phones/Laptops for people to vote on. When someone starts to vote, step away and let students get on with voting. Our team will be running vote stalls on campus all week, so send students to vote with us.
  • • Your society and your members must not vote on behalf of other students.
