City Students’ Union launches its new Strategic Plan

What a couple of years it has been for City Students’ Union.  The Union has seen our highest ever turnout in our elections, big increases in student engagement and the delivery of a number of high impact campaigns and projects.  Students have also shown there confidence in the Union when looking at the results of the National Student Survey Question 26, where the Union is placed second against all other London Students’ Unions and nationally City places at 25th.

This recent success does not mean we stop aiming to become a bigger and better Union for students across City, regardless of whether you are a home or international student, undergraduate or postgraduate, based at Northampton Square or Bunhill Row, or the many other things that may define you as a student at City.  Over the last 6 months, we have been running a City wide project to understand what you want from your Union.  This project has included an all student survey, 12 stakeholder interviews, six student focus groups and a review a number of existing pieces of research.

This information has been analysed and used to develop a new three year strategic plan.  This research has made us confident that this plan sets the right direction for the Union, City students and of course supporting the overall development of City, University of London. We look forward to sharing more information with everyone about the plan over the coming months.
