City’s Assessment Regulations for all programmes have been updated for 2016/17 to make them clearer and easier to understand.

To all returning students in 2016/17 – a joint message from the SU President and the Deputy President and Provost of City.

The Assessment Regulations relating to all City programmes have been updated for 2016/17.

City’s Assessment Regulations provide information about how the assessment and award framework operates; they are designed to maintain the academic standards of the degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded by City. For 2016/17, the content has been revised and re-organised and terminology has been updated to make the Regulations easier to understand for students and staff.

During 2015/16 extensive consultation on the changes to the Regulations took place with staff and the Students’ Union, and with students more broadly through student representatives on the formal committees that have been consulted during the review.

The Regulations which apply to your programme from 2016/17 are contained in the programme specification which you can find in your 2016/17 programme handbook. A list of the key changes that have been made can be found at:

Final results for students on one-year Masters programme who are completing their studies in the autumn term 2016 will be considered under the 2015/16 Regulations.
