City Students’ Union achieves ‘Excellent’ Green Impact Award

City Students’ Union are extremely proud to announce that we have been awarded with ‘Excellent’ in this year’s NUS Green Impact Awards, the highest accreditation that can be achieved.

Whoop! Whoop!

This result is keeping up with our Excellent achieved from last year, recognising the Union’s active effort towards becoming a more sustainable organisation. This year, the SU launched the Reuse, Reduce & Research campaign to encourage students to make more eco-friendly choices and be proactive in creating a more sustainable campus, Union and University. Several events were held to invite students to be more sustainability-conscious including a Kilo Sale, gardening sessions in the Walled Garden with the Sustainable City team and tote bag painting!

Our GISU toolkit submission that evidences all the sustainable actions that happens at City SU was audited and awarded by SOS-UK. Here’s what they said:

“The level and breadth of City's sustainability work is so impressive! It was lovely to see how it's permeated across the whole staff team and is weaved across their whole operation!”

We hope we can keep up the excellent work that has been done this year and work towards a sustainable City together! If there is anything you would like to see us do on sustainability, let us know by emailing studentrep@city.ac.uk.
