LGBTQIA+ History Month

LGBTQIA+ History Month

LGBTQIA+ History Month runs every year through February. It’s a time for reflection, celebration, and remembrance for icons throughout global history and their continued struggle for Liberation & Equality. We’re working across the University with some incredible LGBTQIA+ talent to bring you resources and events to make this month one to remember!

From panels, to workshops, to socials and more- you’ll have the opportunity to learn so much about the vibrant and diverse LGBTIQA+ staff and students at City, as well as continuing to work towards fostering an authentic inclusive community, where all can feel safe and supported in being who they are. "#

The events happening this month (find more information here):

  • LGBTQIA+ Sessions: Meike Imberg: Allyship (9th Feb 2:50-3:50pm)
  • LGBTQIA+ Sessions: Meike Imberg: Navigating HE/Job Market (10th Feb 3-4pm)
  • LGBTQIA+ Sessions: Meike Imberg: How to Drive Change & Influence Campaigns (10th Feb 3-4pm)
  • LGBTQI+ Social: Tens Across the Bar @City Bar (24th of Feb 6pm-11pm)

As students at City we are part of a big intersectional body, we live and study in one of the most inclusive and diverse cities in the world, easily we can forget about the painful history, which stands behind our freedom and inclusion. We can become comfortable in this place but as part of this month I challenge you to take a moment to remember and reflect on our history and collectively we can learn from it, because there is always room to grow.

As the LGBTQ+ Liberation Officer I hope you come to join our vibrant and beautiful community at workshops and events organized at City.

Paulina Samasova  (she/her) - LGBTQ+ Liberation Officer
