Welcome starts from the 4 September and lasts through to Sunday 1 October. Welcome culminates in Welcome Week from Monday 25 September- Sunday 1 October. Welcome is an opportunity to meet people, try some new things and get settled into life at City. We’ll be running loads of events and activities throughout to help you make new friends and get all the information you need.

Don’t miss the Freshers’ Fair on Monday 25 September at the Business Design Centre. This is your chance to meet all of our societies and sports on offer at City. You’ll also get lots of freebies from some of the hottest student brands.

Yes, but once you have enrolled at City and have access to your student account.

Note: You will be able to join a society using your university account on our website once your data has been shared with us. We should begin receiving this in early September.

Your account may take 2-5 days to activate on our system before you can log in with your student account. Any issues, drop an email to studentsunion@city.ac.uk

Yes, as soon as you are fully enrolled with the University, you are a member of City Students’ Union.

We’d love to see you! Come and find us on Level 1 of the Tait Building, up the stairs from the Goswell Road entrance.

One of the best ways to meet people is to attend our events. We have a range of events designed to help you meet people, in low pressure and welcoming environments. From Bob Ross Painting, Coffee Shop Tours, Speed Meets and Movie Nights we have a host of events waiting for you to sign up to.

If you’re moving into halls, leave your door open, or go and introduce yourself to your new flatmates! Look out for SU move-in team who will be helping you move into halls on move-in weekend.

Yes, to all students whatever year you are in. We also have some bespoke events for our Postgraduate community at City!

Throughout the welcome period, we run a wide range of events and activities so there's plenty of opportunities to find something that suits you. Most of the trips, tours and activities on campus are not in alcohol settings. All our events with alcohol present have that clearly noted in the event description. There's no pressure to drink alcohol at any of our events and all of our bars and event spaces offer non-alcoholic drinks.

Unfortunately, each year many students are targeted online for unofficial events that most likely are held in different cities and are not linked to the University or Student Union in anyway. Tickets for official students’ union events, hosted on campus will be sold via this website and promotional materials will also have our branding and logos on it. If you are ever unsure, please do contact us to check, before parting with your money.

CityNav is City’s mobile app to help you find you your way round campus, even inside campus. The app will help you find your way to your rooms and buildings across campus.

If you are purchasing an event ticket, you can create an account with our partners at Native until your student account is activated.

From representing City at competitive sports to participating in our social sports programme; CityActive, there’s lots of ways to get involved.?Whether you are a complete beginner to a sport, have represented your school/college or even played at county and national level, we have opportunities for you to participate.

We have a range of sports clubs you can join including cheerleading, rugby, table tennis and much more. You can find out information on our full range of sports here as well as information on try-outs.

CityActive is our low cost, social sport programme which is a great way to meet new friends and try our new activities in fun and friendly environment. We have a range of activities including volleyball, futsal, basketball, cricket, yoga and Zumba. During Welcome Week all our CityActive programme is free.

Yes, the UrdangSU is part of City Students' Union - the team at UrdangSU plan and run events/activities for Urdang students. But also, Urdang students can also attend all City Students' Union events.
