Micro-Placement Programme (MPP) at the Student Union

Curious about life at the Student Union? Ready to enhance your skill set? Eager to make a meaningful impact at the University?

In collaboration with City Careers and Employability, We, at the Student Union, proudly host the Micro-Placement Programme (MPP).  This is an opportunity to explore non-traditional career paths associated with your degree through a short summer placement with us!

The MPP isn't just an opportunity—it's your passport to real-world insight! Elevate your employability skills, and earn 15 valuable credits through this elective module. Engage in a minimum 4-week, 140-hour placement that'll open doors in your career journey.

The MPP is open to first- and second-year students on eligible programmes, please check here for eligibility.

By working with us, your impact will be genuine and lasting. Take the Cost of Living project from last year, for instance. Students like you made some serious waves:

City's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is reviewing the Travel Bursary based on research findings, which will benefit more commuting students.

The Cost of Living fair during Welcome Week, is an initiative brought to life by a student within the project.
