South Asian Heritage Week and Fair

South Asian Heritage Week and Fair

What is this campaign about?

The "South Asian Heritage Week and Fair" campaign is a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural tapestry of South Asia, hosted at our university. It serves as an opportunity for our diverse student body to come together and showcase the heritage, traditions, and contributions of South Asian communities through a week-long series of events and a grand fair.

What is the purpose of the campaign?

The campaign's primary purpose is to foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation while promoting diversity and inclusivity on our campus. Through cultural performances, interactive stalls, amazing food, and a colourful fair, we aim to:

Celebrate Diversity: Showcase the diversity within South Asian cultures, emphasizing the unity in our shared heritage.

Educate and Inspire: Offer a platform for dialogue and learning about South Asian history, art, cuisine, and the representation of these demographics in our university.

What progress has been made so far?

We have secured enthusiastic support from students, senior leadership, and the South Asian Student groups and societies. Event planning, sponsorships, and engaging with our multiple stakeholders are well underway. We have had amazing ideas from societies within our university, and are working together to bring together an eventful week for all of you!
