Referendum Glossary

Term Information
Referendum A referendum is a ballot in which all student members of the Union are entitled to cast a vote in.
Quoracy  This is the number of votes that are needed in order for the referendum to pass (or fall). In all our referendums at least 500 student members must cast a vote.
Campaigner This is a student who has registered to campaign to canvas voters for a specific side of the question.
Lead Campaigner This is a student who has put themselves forward to convene a specific side of the vote's campaign team.
Case 'For' This is the argument put forward by the 'for' or 'yes' side of the campaign question.
Case 'Against' This is the argument put forward by the 'against' or 'no' side of the campaign question.
