Referendum Glossary

Information |
Referendum |
A referendum is a ballot in which all student members of the Union are entitled to cast a vote in. |
Quoracy |
This is the number of votes that are needed in order for the referendum to pass (or fall). In all our referendums at least 500 student members must cast a vote. |
Campaigner |
This is a student who has registered to campaign to canvas voters for a specific side of the question. |
Lead Campaigner |
This is a student who has put themselves forward to convene a specific side of the vote's campaign team. |
Case 'For' |
This is the argument put forward by the 'for' or 'yes' side of the campaign question. |
Case 'Against' |
This is the argument put forward by the 'against' or 'no' side of the campaign question. |
